How to Delete YouTube Channel

Deleting your YouTube channel is a simple process that you can do from YouTube Studio or your Google Account settings. However, before deleting your channel, you should be aware of its consequences. Deleting your channel will permanently delete all of your content including videos, comments, messages, playlists and history. You will also lose access to your channel name, URL, and subscribers. You will not be able to recover your channel once it is deleted.

If you are sure that you want to delete your YouTube channel, you can follow these steps:

Using YouTube Studio:

1. Go to YouTube Studio in your web browser and sign in if necessary.
2. Click the profile icon in the top right corner of the window. A drop-down menu will appear.
3. Select the channel you want to delete from the drop-down menu.
4. Click on the Settings icon in the left sidebar.
5. Go to Advanced Settings by clicking Channel.
6. Scroll to the bottom and click on Remove YouTube Content. Note: This link will take you to a place where you can delete your channel or hide it. You might have to enter your sign-in information.
7. Click on I want to delete my content.
8. Check the box to confirm that you want to delete your channel and its content.
9. When indicated, provide your channel name or email address.
10. Click Delete my content.

Using Google Account Settings:

1. Go to Google Account in your web browser and sign in if necessary.
2. Click Data & Personalization in the left sidebar.
3. To download, delete, or create a plan for your data, scroll down and click Delete a service or your account.
4. Under Remove Google Services, click Remove a service.
5. Find YouTube in the list of services and click Remove. Note: If you have more than one YouTube channel, you will need to select the channel you want to delete from the drop-down menu.
6. Click on I want to delete my content.
7. Check the box to confirm that you want to delete your channel and its content.
8. When indicated, provide your channel name or email address.
9. Click Delete my content.

Can You Temporarily Hide Your Youtube Channel

Yes, you can hide some of your YouTube content for a period of time with plans to get it back later. Doing so will hide your public movies and groups. It will not hide your channel page, its art, your likes, or the people you subscribe to. But here’s a caveat: This will permanently delete all your comments. When you turn the station back on, they won’t appear again.

1. Click on the profile icon in the top right corner of the YouTube site.
2. Choose Settings.
3. Select “Advanced Settings” from the menu on the left.
4. Click Channel Delete.
5. When requested, enter your Google password and click the “Next” option.
6. Click here. I want to hide what’s on my content.
7. Click the box to confirm that the process will work this way.
8. Click “Hide my belongings.”

Hide Youtube Channel on Mobile

1. In the YouTube app, tap the profile sign in the upper-right corner.
2. Click Your Google Account.
3. Go to the tab for Data and privacy.
4. Select Delete a Google service under Download or Delete your Files.
5. When requested, enter your Google password and press the Next button.
6. Tap the trash can next to YouTube.
7. When requested, enter your Google password and press the Next button.
8. Select “I want my content to be hidden.”
9. Check the boxes to show that you know what will happen when you do this.
10. Tap “Hide my belongings.”
